15 years of care with a human face: the story of Health+

Fifteen years ago, a vision was created in the heart of Prague that seemed almost utopian at the time. A healthcare facility that would not only function well, but where patients would feel individually perceived. Where there would be time to talk to the doctor, where the relationship would be more important than the performance report, and where the team would be made up of people who really wanted to work together.

Today, Health+ is a well-established brand that serves more than 7,800 clients at three locations in Prague - Smíchov, Brumlovka and Vysočany. Despite all the changes, expansions and technological advances, the clinic has retained its most valuable assets: a personal approach, a stable team and a vision that has not been lost even in times of crisis.

It started with four people and courage

When the idea of creating a clinic focused on personalised medicine was born in 2009, it was a bold project. The founders - two doctors and two nurses - set out to create a new model of care, inspired by general practice in Western Europe, but adapted to the current realities and needs of patients.

In January 2010, the clinic opened its first premises on Kartouzská Street near Anděl. Cooperation with renowned architect Ing. Martin Vranek, gave the clinic an exceptional atmosphere - not only plenty of space, modern design, but above all humanity. Within the first year, the team had grown to include specialists in many fields - from general medicine, ENT and neurology to paediatric speech therapy and psychology. The same year saw the birth of the Client Zone and the start of the digitisation of medical records - a progressive solution at the time.

Growth built on trust

The clinic has grown gradually and organically, always responding to the needs of its clients and maintaining strict standards. Each personal doctor has a maximum of 700 clients, while the paediatrician has a maximum of 350 children. This system allows for long-term and truly individualised care. From the outset, there has also been a strong emphasis on prevention - not only basic, but also advanced, using modern markers and diagnostic methods.
As the number of clients has grown, so has the team - from the original four, the clinic now employs around 200 specialists. But the extraordinary thing is that those who start working at Health+ stay. They believe in a common vision, share the clinic's philosophy and create an environment where relationships are as important as expertise.

Technology and telemedicine

One of the key milestones was the launch of our own mobile app in 2017, which allowed clients to access medical records and results and communicate with doctors directly from their phones. Over the years, other digital tools have been added, including video consultations or chat, which proved particularly useful during the Covid-19 pandemic. The clinic responded quickly, implementing a system to track patients at risk and setting up crisis lines and online support. By digitising the data, we were able to quickly identify at-risk groups and provide vaccinations as early as possible.

Medicine of the future

In addition to expanding its facilities - most recently in Vysočany in 2024 - Health+ is also dedicated to developing longevity medicine. This is an approach aimed at prolonging healthy, active lives. This area, which combines prevention, advanced diagnostics and, above all, knowledge of our patients' individual dispositions, including genetic, lifestyle and advanced diagnostics, is one of the clinic's top priorities today. At the same time, it builds on what the clinic has always done - individualised care based on a deep understanding of the client, their context, values and lifestyle.

Where Health Meets Culture

From the beginning, the clinic has considered the environment as part of the treatment. Treatment rooms are decorated with works of art, the spaces are calm and aesthetically pleasing. In 2020, the Vita Bene project was even launched, combining medicine and contemporary Czech art. Openings, exhibitions and art meetings will be held here. This is also a way of approaching the patient as a whole person.

Future outlook

In 2022, a development strategy was drawn up for the next 5-10 years. The Clinic wants to continue to grow - thoughtfully and with a focus on quality. Looking abroad for inspiration, we are a member of the Planetree organisation and are keen to ensure that our care model is sustainable, functional and, above all, humane.
